Jonas Brothers Count Kings of Leon As Inspiration

Now the Jonas Brothers have two things in common with Bono (the first, of course, being teenaged girlfriends). Just a week after Bono asserted that the men of U2 consider themselves contemporaries with Kings of Leon (along with Coldplay and, um, Girls Aloud — we're still trying to figure that one out), Nick Jonas cites them as an influence!

 

Asked about the brothers' new record by someone called Hollyscoop, Nick (widely considered to be "the cute one") replied, "We're being inspired by new music some music out of the UK... Kings of Leon is another big one for us, a lot of different inspirations, a lot of new sounds. We're just trying to continue to grow as musicians and songwriters."

 

Nick also divulged that the new album will be "kind of a back to the roots sound for us." To fully appreciate how hilarious this is, remember that Nick is approximately eleven years old.

This is just hilarious. KoL were slagging off the Disney bands/singers during the run-up of Only By The Night and now they're rubbing shoulder with them. Even Miley and Taylor Swift confessed to having a schoolgirl crush on Jared.
Still, if you release an album full of bland, unchallenging, familiar sounding, chart orientated songs what do you expect? Lay off the Frizz Ease boys and go back to being that raw, edgy rock band we all knew and loved.

Stop being so snobby, Girls Aloud are one of the most important pop acts in the world right now. There songs are no longer "I am embarassed to like them" but more like "wow this is amazing". Bono, Chris Martin, Pet Shop Boys and even the Jonas Brothers can see it.

Jonas Brothers are better than KOL. For real.

And Nick Jonas has been a professional musician for 10 of his 16 years. So, there's that.

Meh.Even the Beatles are kinda "overrated", chance. Really, anything with huge hype is when you go and look at it closely. I never said the Jonases were better than anyone...but they have had a fun career to follow. Like what you like and stop getting so freaked over it. Relax.

For me, Kings of Leon are lamer than the Jonases because they are more full of sh*t, and their musical experience is shallower (they admit this themselves). Jonases are happy to be square and goofy as they are. Much better than faux angst, for me.

Ok if you think the beatles are overrated , but there the best selling band ever , jonas brothers will never sell a billion records and never will.

Kings of Leon are my favorite band ever... always will be. I have no problem with the Jonas Brothers, they seem like good kids and write catchy, enjoyable songs. If they want to listen to KOL, by all means, leave them be.

Kings of leon are the best band ever and have been my fav band for yearrssss.
but the jonas brothers are still good. n nick has a pretty amazing voice. so dont bag em. they can be inspired by whoever they wanna be

if u dont like the boys get a life and stop doggin on them. get a bf/girlfrined/wife/husband/a friend or a talent. god no they arent the best band ever and are overrated WHO CARES if you dont like apples, ur wont eat them,but are gonna just stare at them at the store and talk about how much u dont like them? if you have a life no.

ok. I like KOL and I love JB so what? WHY CANT PEOPLE JUST RESPECT BANDS? I mean, is amazing to see young people taking incredible bands as an inspiration.
We all should learn to accept new things, changes (every way) and RESPECT 'em.
