If you watched the Daily Show last week, you saw the most reasoned reaction to the controversy around Common being invited to the White House, when Jon Stewart compared Common to Johnny Cash, who also sang songs that had violence in them. Stewart went on to Bill O'Reilly late last week, and he straight ethers (that's a hip-hop term) O'Reilly, who backs himself into multiple corners, and Stewart takes him to task over "the selective outrage machine" at FOX. It's a pretty great debate/segment. You can see it above and below. The best part is watching Stewart try not to accuse O'Reilly of being racist for hating Common but not Bob Dylan.
