Johnny Rotten to Serbians: "Praise Allah!"

Here's a way to win over fans in Serbia: try to get them praise Allah! It seems John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnny Rotten) of the Sex Pistols is up to his usual tricks, using a rallying cry of Islam in a country that committed ethnic cleansing against Bosnian Muslims less than 20 years ago.

At the Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Rotten asked : "So who thinks America should still be in Iraq?"and proceeded to launch into a "Praise Allah" chant that left the audience shocked. Not surprisingly, they began to boo wildly. Rotten then switched to chanting "praise Serbia, praise Serbia" before going back to performing.

It seems that Rotten made a legitimate mistake here, and was not trying to bringup bad memories of the early 90s and Slobodan Miloševi?. But I think most Sex Pistols fans in NATO countries are kind of wishing that it was intentional. Even if it meant their hero may have gotten murdered.
