Legendary grunge gods Dinosaur Jr. will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the band's seminal album, You're Living All Over Me, with a special concert at Terminal 5 in New York City on Dec. 1.
The show will feature two sets — one in which the album will be performed in its entirety, and a second restrospective set slated to bring a slew of artists joining the might Dinosaur on stage.
Today, it was revealed that Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr will be one of the many special guests joining Dinosaur Jr. for the anniversary celebration. The group posted the news on the band's official website earlier this morning:
On December 1, Dinosaur Jr. will celebrate the 25th anniversary of “You’re Living All Over Me” at Terminal 5 in New York City. The band will play the album in its entirety followed by a second set spanning their catalogue with very special musical guests joining them onstage. We’re excited to announce the first of these special guests: Johnny Marr, known for his work in The Smiths, Modest Mouse & The Cribs. Marr will sit in with Dinosaur Jr. for a song or two, and we’re thrilled he’ll be celebrating with us. More special guests to be announced.
If Dinosaur Jr.'s impressive roster of collaborators and friends — which includes the likes of Sonic Youth, Mike Watt, and King Tuff — is any indication, the remaining special guests to be announced will definitely be something to watch for.
