John Paul Jones Squashes Led Zeppelin Reunion, Loves Being in Them Crooked Vultures

John Paul Jones has remained pretty quiet on the whole "Are Led Zeppelin going to reunite?" story that has surrounded the band since 2007. But the bassist, who is a member of Them Crooked Vultures, has finally spoken up, denying that the band is near reunion, and doubting it ever happening. He also said that he, Page and Jason Bonham tried to get going with a different singer, like was reported earlier this year, but that they couldn't agree on one:

"Jimmy [Page] and I rehearsed a bit with Jason [Bonham]. We couldn't agree on a singer and it fell by the wayside."

For now, Jones is just happy to be a part of Them Crooked Vultures it seems.

"This came along and to be honest, I'm really happy," Jones said of his involvement in Them Crooked Vultures. "I immediately recognized [Grohl] was drummer that was, A, really good, B, groovy, and C, listened. All those nice things bass players like in drummers."

I think at some point the band will have to reunite since I can't imagine Page letting the kind of money that could come with a tour sit on the table that long without lunging for it. But it seems like those Zeppelin at Glastonbury 2010 rumors that have popped up recently are false. [Spinner]
