John Lydon Says Butter Ad Paid for Public Image Ltd. Reunion

In an interview about his popular butter ads in the U.K., John Lydon claims that the money he made on the butter ads provided him with the funds he needed to relaunch Public Image Ltd., his post-punk band that is going to be on a reunion tour shortly.

"Why are they questioning me?" he demanded. "What manual am I supposed to adopt? I'm promoting a British product which I'm very proud of. Anything I can do to help British industry is fine by me and in return you've got PiL."

 

Lydon says the butter money paid the band for rehearsals, allowing them to sruvive on a shoestring budget until they go on tour. I guess it's a noble cause; at least dude wasn't doing the ads to buy a car or something. [Spinner]
