John Legend Sells “Rap” Sitcom To NBC

Apparently John Legend isn’t adequately occupied with his singing career. Dude is all about producing now. News came out this morning that Legend is executive producing a “hip-hop” comedy for NBC, in which a Philadelphia street rapper learns that he has a teenage son who is being raised by a white family in the suburbs. Predictably, the rapper decides he wants to connect with the son, and that’s what the show is about. Expect an episode where the rapper teaches the white people to add “izzle” on to the end of words (probably). Who knows if this show will make it to air, but if Whitney can get greenlit at NBC, then all bets are off. [Deadline]
