Joe Strummer doc coming to DVD

Sure, you’ve probably already seen your fair share of Clash-related DVDs, like the faux cinema verite film Rude Boy and the oral/visual history From Westway To The World, but The Future Is Unwritten–directed by Julien Temple (The Filth & The Fury, Great Rock & Roll Swindle) and released in theaters last year–focuses not on the fearsome foursome as a whole, but on their charismatic frontman Joe Strummer. It follows punk’s Woody Guthrie from his days busking around with an acoustic guitar, through his pub-rock past with the 101’ers, and all the way through to his global-minded latter-day solo work. Oh, yeah, and he was in some band that changed the world, too. Legacy is scheduled to drop The Future is Unwritten: Joe Strummer on DVD on June 24.
