In a carefully worded statement, Michael Jackson's father says that he will not lend a hand in raising his son's children. Joe's ex-wife Katherine Jackson, who was awarded full custody on August 3, was named as the preferred caretaker in Michael Jackson's will, drafted in 2002. In perhaps the most benignly put statement ever, Joe Jackson has said: "I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth. I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children."
Jackson then went on to call his ex-wife "a wonderful caretaker and guardian," and left it at that. [NME]
