One of the more morbid/unsavory aspects surrounding the endless coverage of Michael Jackson's death is that Joe Jackson, his iron-fisted father, has been using his increased media presence due to Michael's death to promote some new record company he has where they're trying to put stuff on Blu-Ray. And it's not just isolated instances; Joe is doing it in every interview and appearance he has had. There's the CNN red carpet interview above where the reporter tries in vain to get some quotes about Michael, and then the FOX News Press Conference below. The one below is probably the better of the two, because Al Sharpton looks befuddled as to why he's around. Me too.
I guess this is probably not the worst thing that's ever been pointed out about Joe Jackson, considering he's been blamed for, among other things, abusing the Jackson 5 and indirectly leading Michael to his obsession with plastic surgery for making fun of his nose when he was a kid. But still, this is pretty low. I can appreciate not wanting to talk about Michael in a time of grieving, that makes perfect sense. But to use your new pulpit as a promotional tool for a label that apparently has some projects running (that's the funniest part: it's never quite clear what the label is or who's signed to it) is really sad. That was more outrageous than I thought it would be.
At least Joe noticed Michael was alive when he saw him the previous week.
Joe Jackson is hearing "ca-ching", but if the will is correct, he won't be getting a dime.
Didn't he cheat on his wife? I guess, once a cheater, always a cheat.

can somebody lock this old man in the closet?!

Joe Jackson is a horrible, horrible human being. You can clearly see he has no caring whatsoever for the passing of his son. There is a very, very hot place waiting especially for him when he finally passes away, I'm certain.

Can someone put a GAG ORDER on Joe Jackson? It was given to the old man a chance to retract his comment followed the death of his son “The King of Pop”. Shameless, he once again blatant boosted a promotion of his upcoming record label. All he cares is what his children will do for him-Dead or Alive.
No matter how you cut it. Here is the part where my brain vomits.

Makes you feel for Michael Jackson. What a rat his father is!
Joe
I was just laughing and shaking my head. hey, Tell him the memorial IS at the Neverland.... ya, thats it. Drop him off, tell him that people will arrive shortly.

Joe is still Married to Katherine. He is guardian too, as long as he doesn't divorce his wife. (Ex Post facto). They will both raise Mike's Kids. The rest of the family will help too, of course. The man is 82 years old. He couldn't even remember the name of the label. He first told the interviewer that He couldn't talk about plans for Michael's funeral. He said this at least twice. He seemed to be changing the subject, because the interviewer keep asking. He then goaded Marshall on to tell the interviewer about the label.
Media does outtakes on videos to put a spin on it to the public. People don't know what to believe. I've heard about him abusing his kids, but I've never heard of any of them being put in the hospital with broken bones or black eyes, and let's not forget: without Joe being a strict father, you wouldn't even know of a Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson. He disciplined his children, and made them successful in the process. Something most fathers today don't even attempt to do. So unless someone has raised 9 successful kids, and none have ever been arrested or accused of any crimes, (except for Michael, but he was acquitted of all charges), then they need to shut up.

Joe is 82. He is losing his mind seriously. Someone asked him if he had a message for Michael's grieving fans, he told the reporter 'Michael misses his fans' so either MJ is alive or Joe is crazy. He also didn't know where his sons body was.
Michael forgave his father and they did love each other dispite what happened in the past. Read/listen to Michael Jackson's speech at The Oxford University Union.
Listen to Prince Jackson at the Grammys thanking his Grandma and Grandpa for their love and support. Don't talk about his grandpa rudely on here.
