The thing that people who are resentful of the overload of Michael Jackson coverage don't understand, is that one of the famous people in the world died recently, and every circumstance surrounding his life and death was tragic, epic, and ridiculous.

Joe Jackson's press tour following his son's death is just a microcosm of this fact. Jackson has suggested to ABC that Michael Jackson's death was the result of foul play, and to MTV he has, pretty horrifyingly, suggested that Michael's children have futures in entertainment.

"I don't know -- I keep watching Paris," Jackson said to MTV. "She...wants to do something." That hyphen and the ellipse are creepy enough, but just imagine what it sounds like to hear Joe Jackson say that.
