Joaquin Phoenix and his personal documentarian Casey Affleck were in Miami for a show on Saturday (March 7), which ended in predictable chaos. Phoenix was performing a short set of hip-hop songs at a Miami Beach nightclub when he leaped off stage and confronted a heckler. Security guards had to drag Phoenix away from the audience member after he delivered as set that contained lyrics described in this report as “unintelligible.”The former actor came on stage at 2am, still looking as bedraggled as he did on his now infamous Letterman appearance. An eyewitness at the scene said he “saw the guy screaming at Joaquin, and Joaquin just came down,” leading to the confrontation. But with Affleck filming the whole debacle, few people present seem convinced that the fight or Phoenix’s career shift are anything other than fantasy.
“[Affleck's] camera was filming the whole time, so it makes me think he has ulterior motives," said attendee Luis Gendron. "He knows the game he's playing, and he's good at it.” The fascination with Phoenix and the lengths he will go to with his hip-hop career will undoubtedly start to wane in the not too distant future, and he’ll need to come up with something more creative than attacking a fan for this ruse to rouse much more interest.

I want his beard.
