In the midst of what many are calling the twilight of the album as an art form and the slow, agonizing death of the CD as a means of distributing music to the masses, it's great to find artists that are still trying to make it work.Freak folk MVP Joanna Newsom might be a little too committed though. Have One on Me, her just announced follow-up to the critically acclaimed Ys, is due out Feb. 23 on Drag City, and it's a triple album! Head over to the Drag City website, where they're streaming the sparse album track "'81," then try and imagine listening to thirty more tracks of that harp assisted mousy warble in one sitting. Tough sell right? [Pitchfork]
The ad that popped up on the screen when I clicked on the twitter link to get here made me not want to 1. buy this album 2. ever look at this site again 3. go to the festival
