L.A.'s Disney Hall brings on the chanteuses

Any fans of gorgeous female singer-songwriters who make gorgeous music might want to happen to find themselves in Los Angeles on the Fridays of November 9 and 16. Those are the dates that two indie queens will grace the beautiful Walt Disney Concert Hall. First up on the 9th is the quirky harpist with the voice that launches debates that end friendships, Joanna Newsom. Newsom will be backed by a 28-piece orchestra playing arrangements prepared by her friend and collaborator Van Dyke Parks. A week later, on the 16th, its Neko Case's turn inside the majestic, vaulting, ship-like venue. Case is set for a show that's being billed as "Bittersweet Country," which will surely be filled with her originals as well as folk and country standards. Head here for ticket info.
