All has been quiet on the Led Zeppelin reunion front since early November, but today brings news courtesy of Jimmy Page's manager that the band "will tour and record album with new singer."
Page's manager, Peter Mensch, said that Page is anxious to get on the road and record, since he is a professional musician after all.
"Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old. Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That's what he does! He doesn't want to be a race car driver or a solicitor," Mensch told 6Music. And they (Page, John Paul Jones, Jason Bonham) decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they'd make a record and go on tour."
There's still no word on who the singer would be, but Mensch says the band is looking for one, but not taking solicitations. So that's how the douche from Alter Bridge got involved? They brought him in? The horror. The horror. But on a lighter note, may I suggest this guy?
Of course, all of this is just rampant speculation that still needs to be confirmed by a tour announcement or other, more tangible means. [NME]
