All has been quiet on the Led Zeppelin reunion front since early November, but today brings news courtesy of Jimmy Page's manager that the band "will tour and record album with new singer."
Page's manager, Peter Mensch, said that Page is anxious to get on the road and record, since he is a professional musician after all.
"Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old. Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That's what he does! He doesn't want to be a race car driver or a solicitor," Mensch told 6Music. And they (Page, John Paul Jones, Jason Bonham) decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they'd make a record and go on tour."
There's still no word on who the singer would be, but Mensch says the band is looking for one, but not taking solicitations. So that's how the douche from Alter Bridge got involved? They brought him in? The horror. The horror. But on a lighter note, may I suggest this guy?
Of course, all of this is just rampant speculation that still needs to be confirmed by a tour announcement or other, more tangible means. [NME]
Cripes.
Has history taught us nothing? I said it before, I'll say it again: four words -- Paul Rodgers with Queen.

Saw them in 77 in L.A. at the Forum. If Plant is not with them. It isn't worth the price of the ticket.

Led Zep without Robert ? Why not, if Plant does not want to, fair enough. AC/DC is a perfect exemple of success after the Bon Scott era, having chosen Brian as lead singer of the group. The greatest shame of all goes to "Yes" touring without Jon Anderson, he who was looking forward working with the band again after having recovered from health problems !!! Jimmy, John Paul and Jason have massive talent and creativity though. Do they really need the Led Zep label to succeed ? Yes without Jon, Queen without Freddy... Led Zep without Robert...is like having Jethro Tull without Ian Anderson...But again, might be just a matter of big bucks... If Jimmy is ready, let's wait and see what is about to happen...
