Jimmy Iovine Calls Subscription Services "Culturally Inadequate"

Jimmy Iovine, Universal Music Group executive, Beats cofounder, and long time Interscope majordomo, spoke recently with the San Francisco Chronicle on the rumored Beats acquisition of streaming service MOG. Iovine had lots to say about streaming services, from the typical poo-pooing of the competition ("subscription has an enormous hole in it, and it's not satisfying right now"), to cryptic promises (on the rumored MOG acquisition: "I can't show the magic trick"), to baffling and maybe meaningless doubletalk ("subscription music online is culturally inadequate."). What exactly does "culturally inadequate" actually mean? Whatever it means, Iovine certainly wants to make you believe that whatever he's got in store for MOG will address that particular concern.
