Jimmy Cliff Announces New Album ‘Rebirth,’ Tour

Last year, the legendary reggae king Jimmy Cliff released Sacred Fire, an EP that showed that, even at the age of 64, Cliff still has few tricks up his sleeve. Today comes word that he’s a got a new album called Rebirth, due out July 17 through Universal Music.

Produced by Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong (who also helmed Sacred Fire), Rebirth features ten originals along with covers of the Clash’s “Guns of Brixton” and Rancid’s “Ruby Soho.” You can grab the album’s first single “One More” through Cliff’s website in exchange for an email address.

In addition, Cliff is launching a monster tour on both sides of the Atlantic. Check out the album’s tracklist along with the tour dates below. [Consequence of Sound]
