Details about the upcoming Japanese version of the I'll Be Your Mirror Festival have been trickling slowly toward our eager 'Net-glazed eyeballs over the past few weeks. After last year's successful Godspeed You! Black Emperor-curated event, it's been expanded to two days. So far we've learned (through osmosis--we stopped "reading" months ago) that Jim O'Rourke is curating Day Two of the event, that said event is taking place at Studio Coast in Tokyo on April 14 and 15, and that a few of the celebrated acts that will be performing include Codeine, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, and Michael Rother of Neu! fame.
Well, today we get to report the headliner for Day Two of the festival: Jim O'Rourke himself, performing his classic 1999 album Eureka with a 12-piece band. This doesn't show too much ingenuity on his part, perhaps, but we're still excited. If you are living in Japan right now, planning on being in Japan in April, or willing to empty your savings account to be in Japan in April, go here for ticket details. Sale starts Feb. 11. [FACT]
