It looks like Jim Carrey is joining the cast of Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Walls.
Last month, it was reported that Carrey had been approached to the role of The Colonel, a character who helps stimulate the film’s cast of superheroes. On Sept 1, director Jeff Wadlow vaguely confirmed Carrey’s involvement in the sequel on Twitter, claiming “6 days till we start shooting... and we officially have our Colonel. Alrighty f'n then!”
“Alrighty then” was likely a reference to the catch phrase from Carrey’s break-through hit movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Also, when returning cast member Christopher Mintz-Plasse was questioned about who was playing The Colonel on Twitter, Kick Ass creator Mark Millar tweeted “clue- he lives with 200 raccoons and parrots, owns the mask of Loki and named by Spielberg as a genius."
There’s no official confirmation of Carrey’s involvement in Kick-Ass 2, so take those tweets with a grain of salt for now. However, since shooting begins on Sept 7, we should know for sure in just a few days.
