Jesse Kivel Of Princeton Debuts Disco Side Project Kisses

Jesse Kivel, the guitarist and vocalist of the indie pop band Princeton has teamed up with fellow L.os Angeles-based musicians and writer Zinzi Edmundson for a side project called Kisses, which will drop its debut CD Oct. 19.

Kivel's disco roots run deep. He's been a longtime friend to the cult disco producer Alec R. Costandinos, a mainstay of 1970s music. Costandinos passed along his knowledge of 1970s dance music to Kivel via a huge vinyl collection and the idea for Kisses was born. The exotic imagery of the lyrics comes out of Kivel's stint as a travel writer.

The band will also be playing a handful of show soon:

09.02 Los Angeles, CA: La Cita
09.03 Los Angeles, CA: Echoplex
09.05 Los Angeles, CA: Echo Curio
09.07 Hollywood, CA: Cinespace
10.19 New York, NY:- Santo's
