'Jersey Shore' Gets The Boot

I don't know how to say this to you...so I'm just going to say it: MTV announced today that the upconing sixth season of Jersey Shore will be its last. I know, I know, I almost cried when I heard the news myself. But we'll pull through. I promise.

The ridiculous reality cash cow has been the network's most successful series of all time, peaking at almost 9 million viewers in 2011. But fear not, all you drama lovers, Snooki & JWoww has been renewed. What a relief!

Jersey Shore's last run premieres October 4m, and MTV will also air a retrospective special Gym, Tan, Look Back ahead of the MTV Video Music Awards on September 6. I wish I was joking about that last bit, but alas, I am not.
