It looks like all is not well in The Specials camp. The pioneering British ska outfit, set to play a string of U.K. reunion dates next spring in celebration of their 30th anniversary, will apparently not include keyboardist/bandleader Jerry Dammers among its number when striding the the boards. In a statement released yesterday, Dammers, a founding member of the band, claimed that not only had he been pushed out of the reunion plans, but that the rest of The Specials had never even invited him to participate in the first place.
Singer Terry Hall has claimed that "the door remains open" for Dammers to take part, but the keyboardist insists that is not the case, and stated that he does not support the upcoming reunion performances. There seems to have been no clue thus far from either side as to what's behind this brouhaha. Your theories on this curious state of affairs are welcome, dear readers.
