Singer-songwriter Jennifer O'Connor's sophomore full length, Here With Me (cover at left), is slated for an August 19 release via Matador. It will be the follow up to 2006's Over the Mountain, Across the Valley and Back to the Stars. O'Connor recorded the album in New York City with John Agnello, who has also worked with Dinosaur Jr. and Sonic Youth. Franz Nicolay of the Hold Steady plays a little bit of keyboard on Here With Me. Matador calls the album "breezier and more upbeat" than Over the Mountain, but the record still has plenty of O'Connor's signature, personally evocative tunes.

O'Connor is currently finishing up a run of dates with funkmeister Jamie Lidell (odd pairing, that). Later this year she'll hook up with Son, Ambulance for some shows, then have the honor of opening a couple of gigs for Wilco.
