Jemina Pearl is the latest guest on Dirty Laundry, a web interview series where musical stars air their, what else, dirty laundry. Pearl's got a lot to talk about, and she hits a lot of topics in the above interview, including her solo album, fighting people at shows, major labels and having Thurston Moore as a boss. But the biggest nugget is her discussion of Be Your Own Pet's breakup, which is maybe the most forward discussion about it since the band called it quits. Pearl says the group was a whirlwind (they did start it when they were 15), and everyone kind of got burned out really quickly. They had made a pact to quit if they stopped being friends, so they did.
If Questionable Content has taught me anything, it's that if you don't start furiously humping Thurston Moore's leg upon first meeting him, you're a better person than most.
