Actor Jeff Bridges has just signed to the legendary Blue Note Records for the late summer release of his debut album. That’s right, “The Dude” has a record deal. A stellar turn as the washed up, alcoholic country singer Bad Blake in 2009’s Crazy Heart netted Bridges Best Actor honors at last year’s Oscars, and work with hotshot roots rock veteran T-Bone Burnett, who produced the film’s soundtrack, got the creative juices flowing. Burnett and much of the team behind the Crazy Heart soundtrack was reprised for Bridges’ as-yet-untitled album. Bridges promises guest spots from vocalists Rosanne Cash and Sam Phillips, guitarist Marc Ribot and more. The album will feature songs by Tom Waits, Crazy Heart co-conspirators Stephen Burton and John Goodwin and Bridges himself.
