Jay-Z Says His Beef With Lil Wayne Is Just "Sport"

If you were paying attention during the MTV VMAs last month, you could see the weird tension between Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, who are in the midst of a "beef" where the two of them fight over how Birdman makes less money than Beyonce. It's pretty lame as far as beefs go, but it's also sort of entertaining, in that we haven't seen two rappers that are this huge go at each other (Nas and Jay-Z weren't as big as these two during their beef, for instance).

We figured that Jay-Z would never come down to fight Lil Wayne head on, but he at least is mentioning that they are at least hitting each other in song: In a recent interview with MTV, he briefly mentioned the beef, but dispelled any notion that it'll be anything bigger than two dudes picking on each other:

"That's sport, that's rap music," Jay said. "Nothing is going to change but the participants. I don't even see why that's news." 

So there you have it. I'm sort of more interested in a beef between Jay and Wayne's underlings. Like how great would it be if Memphis Bleek and Gudda Gudda start going at each other. Oh wait. That would be the worst. [MTV]
