At a news conference held yesterday morning with U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan (!) and MTV President Christina Norman, Jay-Z announced plans for a world tour with the purpose of raising awareness of the worlds water crisis.
The tour will take Jay to many places currently affected by the crisis, where hell visit with the people during the day, and put on live performances at night. MTV will document the tour for a special entitled Diary of Jay-Z: Water for Life which will air on November 24.
Jay had the following to say about his decision to launch the tour:
"If you bring awareness to other young people, they're gonna see [that] and want to be involved. I'm not a politician I'm just a regular person with a heart. If you see a problem like that and do nothing about it, there's something wrong with you."
While the itinerary is yet to be finalized, we do know that the tour is set to kick-off September 9 in Poland. As soon as the tour dates are confirmed, well be sure to let you know.
