Oprah Winfrey, long an outspoken critic of hip-hop, has a new best friend: Jay-Z. The pair spent yesterday at Jay-Z's native Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, where Oprah spent two hours interviewing the rapper for a spread in a future issue of O Magazine.
Immediately following the interview, Oprah called her close friend Gayle King, of course. "He's so charming and delightful, and he smelled so good," Oprah gushed. Winfrey said that while she still doesn't agree with some of Jay-Z's music, she has taken a liking to him as a person.
"It was really a conversation, and at the end of the day, you feel like you get to know someone," she said. "I feel like I met a new friend. It was really great." [MTV]
