Jay-Z Not So Good At Donating To Charities, Not Even His Own

There's a semi-inflammatory story hitting the net hard right now about Jay-Z not donating much money to charity. The Daily has looked into his charitable givings in 2010, and according to them, he only gave $6,341 of his estimated $63 million take in 2010 to charity. What's more, is that that $6,341 was donated to Jay-Z's own charity, the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund. The story is over here, and you can get enraged if you want. 

But, to me, are we really going to takedown someone like Jay-Z for not giving his money to charity? Like, whether the dude wants to put clothes on underprivileged kids or he wants to make a gold bathtub filled with gold coins, that's up to him. If I had $63 million in one year, I wouldn't be rushing to hand it out to anyone else either. So, for the Daily to be all high-and-mighty, questioning how good of a person Jay-Z is, is crazy to me. Do we judge CEOs on how much money they give to charity? Some rich people spend their later years giving it all away--via Bill Gates--and others don't. No one writing about this has $63 million, so it's not like anyone can say what's right in that situation. So, in short, who cares about Jay-Z not giving his money to charity? [DS]
