New York Observer is reporting that Jay-Z is in talks to write a book that explains a bunch of his lyrics. The report doesn't say how much cheddar Jay is expected to receive for the book (I'm betting a lot), but the deal is nearly finalized.
Look, I realize not everyone can understand rap lyrics, but do we really need Jay to explain "H to the izz-O, v to the izz A/ Fo' shizzle my nizzle used to dribble down in VA/was herbin' em in the ome of the Terrapins?" Couldn't the entire book be summed up as, "Most of my old lyrics are about drug dealing experience I may or may not have had 20 years ago. I also talked about my neighborhood in Brooklyn, and how I am the second coming. Now most of my lyrics are about the expensive cars and clothes I can afford because I have a healthy investment portfolio." Three sentences. Done. [via Real Talk NY]
