Jay-Z's Kingdom Come leaks, many find it mediocre

The new Jay-Z album, Kingdom Come leaked over the weekend to much fanfare over the internet. The cool kids over at Okayplayer and Hipinion have largely considered the album to be unspectacular, though opinions are mixed. The album art is even underwhelming. If his verses are as uninspired as early opinion indicates, then why come out of so-called retirement to mail it in?

I suspect that The Game not only leaked his own album, but leaked Jigga's as well, just to prove he's the gulliest motherfucker in...well, the game. But those of you that came here for a download link should be ashamed. While we will gladly announce that an album is availible for illegal download, we would NEVER actively contribute to the theft of monies from artists and record labels.

Man Totally true, this album is mediocre. Man if you go into any Rasputins, Let the kingdom come and go, and head straight to Mac Mall's Thizziana Stoned and The Temple of Shrooms, now that worth the money

After the first listen I was like uh! Then once I heard it a few more times I realized how genius this shit is! Jay has done it again. If you don't like this album that's just because you have a shallow mind and probbably enjoy some watered down paint by numbers thug rap bullshit. This is a real man talking about real things. He's on a whole different level. Dude doesn't make rap songs he makes music. Jay is beyond hiphop. Beach Chair is fuckin brilliant and probbably the most needed song in music today. It sounds like he's rappin over some old zepplin or floyd shit. The words are deeper then most of your minds probbably run though! If you don't like this album then you prob listen to the dipset and their fake ass sesame street rhymes or you prob think the game is a real thug that never used to strip for men, have a butterfly tattoo covered up by an LA sign, or probbably never realized that tupac never got arrested until after he was famous and used to be a back up dancer for humpty. Bottom line is, is that jay's music runs much deeper then some fuckin thug bullshit or some dude talking about laffy taffy just to make a few bucks. I am an avid fan of all genres of music and lyrics and I could def put his words up there with the likes of Vedder, Gilmore, Waters, Morrison, Cash, Cobain, and many many more. Likem, Lovem, hatem, use to likem now hatem, think he's sold out it doesn't matter what you think cuz Dude is a genius bottom line. Smalls Pac Em Nas Rakim Easy it doesn't matter who you think is better cuz their not. Dude has set the standard. If he dies tommorrow this will be considered the greatest album of all times because if you die people jump on your dick ala biggie and pac!

The above blogger is half right. Jay-Z's lyrics are above most rappers and he does transcend the hip genre as does outkast and a few others. However, the production on this album is slightly better than average. If I were a hip hop mag I would give him 4 mics (really 3.5) but 4 because he's Jigga. By the way, Tupac was arrested a long time ago in Marin City before he ever got famos and being a back up dancer for an Oakland rap group (Digital Underground) does not make you soft. In 89' & 90, thugs danced too muther fucker. Square assed suburban kats wouldn't know that -that includes so called avid music critics. Stop insulting other people's right to have an opinion -if Laffy Taffy is what they like, well then Hip Hop was founded on raps that inspired dance (B-boyz and Break dancing), as did most "Black dominated" genres.

Hey well I have heard the new Jay Z album and to me when it comes to lyrics he is the best put the placement of the song or the melody of the songs just dont really reach me. I guess its because I am still loving the Black Album, but then again its J so we'll see how it grows on us wont we. Oh by the way I must commend him on the Minority Report that one hit home and I am not even from the states.

J's new album "Kingdom Come" is one of the best albums in stores now. Thank God Hova's back. I don't care what people say about a beat, the man lyrics are real and the only people who can't relate are the hatta's who are not about their business, money, life changes and continuous growth. I Love it. I have bought three copies of the "real deal". I love ya Jigga. Thanks for a Great Come Back!! The Best Rapper Alive.

Great LP!! A more mature side of the hustler/brandish lyricist to appreciate. This is what you call a developing artist. More music less B.S. We've heard the metaphors and similies. We've heard the stories. We've heard the tricky word play. We've heard the genius behind all of the mainstream hits. We even heard a little of "Kingdom Come" on "The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse" album. Now we get to soak up the new improved Hov. I'm looking forward to many more Jay-Z albums. I think he's just warming up.

Jay-Z has never been one of my favorite hip hop artists. To me he talks about things most of us will never see. I always learn about the fancy/expensive stuff from his music. I have listened to the album and it's o.k. I guess I'm at a different point in my life, where I am into music that really uplifts & helps me get through the day (The few songs that do this are:"Lost Ones & Beach Chair"). I also like "Hollywood" with Beyonce." "Show me what you got is catchy but I wouldn't spend $ to purchase it. I am a fan of how Jay-Z has turned his fortune into 300 plus million, but his album is just average like most of the music that is being released today. I'm not buying albums for 3 or 4 songs anymore, it has to satisfy me from alpha to omega.

Surfing around, I've seen many bad reviews about this album. I, along with Trade Man, share the opinion that this album is a lyrical masterpiece. He's so far ahead of the rest of the rap game that they can't see Jay-Z's transcendence into another plane of thinking. They have been desensitized to good music thanks to the likes of Laffy Taffy, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Dip Set in general. Don't get me wrong those songs are good for dancing and partying, but this Kingdom Come doesn't serve that purpose. Many fail to see how much Jay has, as he said many times, matured. For example, I read a review that his song "Lost One" insults Beyonce as well as his nephew Khalid for dying, saying "yes how dare he have the nerve to die." Listen to that song more than once and you will see how insightful this man really is. Now that he's on top, he can finally talk about whats important. Welcome back Jigga, I hope you're around for a few more albums.

I listened to this about an hour ago.....ive not managed to turn it off yet! i really think this is one of the best rap albums ive heard its up there with 50cent the massacre (if your looking for a deep song with hard hitting lyrics listen to the massacre, it might be all gangsterrap but alot of it is about whats happened in his life.) and the earlier eminem albums like slim shady lp and marshall mathers lp. Great Album gonna be listening to it for a long time.

For everyone who says that this album sucks, u need to be taken out back somewhere and shot. Please, someone tells me who's better in the game than Jay. There is no competion. I'm from the midwest and recently moved to the South and i'm "snap danced, laffy taffyed, motorcycled danced and walked out." I'm loving the music with real lyrics and meaning. Something u may have to listen to more than once to appreciate it. Sure I'm a Hov fan, but this album is his best yet. Even better than reasonable doubt. I love when artists get to his level. When you can put out the type of music u want and it's still good. You don't have to make music just for sales. And you can do it and still be good. That's why they stay around forever. (See Outkast, Snoop) And welcome back to real lyricist (See Papoose and Lupe). So if you don't like it, go buy Cam's bullshit.

nobody is really saying the album sucks, bossman. everyone is saying that it is just unspectacular and more of the same old, same old. and if you wanted to shoot them, america's workforce would be cut in half. as for the lyrics, he doesnt really have anything to say on this album. and since i dont really like it that much, ill go buy the clipse's and k-os' "bullshit". thanks.
