With that whole short-lived retirement thing behind him, Jay-Z is moving ahead with making more new music. November 6 is the slated release date for his soundtrack to the new Denzel Washington/Russell Crowe film, American Gangster. Details are scant at this point, but Pharrell is believed to be involved with some of the album's production work. This album, at least, will come out on Def Jam.
Jay isn't the only hip-hop artist involved with the film. Common, T.I, and RZA are as well, but in a different manner: they all have roles in American Gangster, a Ridley Scott-directed true story about a New York City crime boss.

it sounds like a ploy from Jigga so if the album is a dud he can write it off and say it wasn't really an official album, just a soundtrack. kinda like streets is watching.
