Jawbox to Reunite on Fallon
Defunct post-hardcore stalwarts Jawbox are set to take the stage once more for a Dec. 8 performance on NBC's hipper-by-the-day Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. J. Robbins and company haven't played together since 1997, with 1998's odds and sods compilation My Scrapbook of Fatal Accidents being their swan song. The performance will come on the heels of the Nov. 23 reissue of their seminal major label debut For Your Own Special Sweetheart, which now sports three bonus tracks originally released on 1994's Savory+3 single.
Last we heard from them, bassist Kim Coletta and guitarist Bill Barbot bought back the rights to the Jawbox catalog and re-released it digitally through their venerable Desoto Records imprint. That was way back in...2006. Somebody need money? [Billboard]

Last time I checked, J. Robbins was a well-to-do producer playing in multiple bands. Reissuing the same record twice in three years sort of approaches the limits of acceptable cashing in on one's legacy to me. Point taken, though. I'll try a little tenderness next time.
Well, technically they really aren't reissuing the record twice. It went out of print ages ago, and they simply made F.Y.O.S.S. available digitally. I don't really consider itunes a proper re-issue, and re-issuing it on an indie doesn't seem like cashing in.
