In an effort to benefit the young son of J.Robbins, Jawbox On Cello is available for download here, Friends, family and fans have been raising money to treat Callum Robbins, who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at 8 months old. Money raised will help Robbins and his wife (and partner in Channels), Janet Morgan, so they can pursue alternative but expensive treatments for a disease that has no cure yet. There have been a number of concerts in the New York and D.C. areas this past year or so, including a one-off Dismemberment Plan reunion.
 
Jawbox On Cello is the work of Gordon Withers, formerly of Boston indie band Betwixt. He used arrangements for a number of Jawbox songs that he had put together in college. The album will be available digitally starting on December 18. If ever there was a good cause, this is it. As a musician and recording engineer, Robbins (also ex-Burning Airlines) has made his imprint and influence on countless albums that’s often imitated by others, but never duplicated.
