Alabama native Jason Isbell played his folk hit ‘Stockholm’ on the Late Show With David Letterman last night. The Muscle Shoals singer is currently on tour supporting his critically acclaimed album Southeastern, which was released last month via Relativity Records and debuted at number 23 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Isbell’s rise to fame over the last year has seen him grab festival slots at Bonnaroo, the Hangout Music Fest and even a taping of Austin City Limits in August.
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are set to play FloydFest and the Newport Folk Festival this weekend, but stopped by ‘Letterman’ last night. Isbell strummed through powerful melodies and belted vocals with his wife Amanda Shires (vocals and violin) on a performance that David Letterman described as “tremendous.”
