Anyone who has followed Jarvis Cocker’s career will know that he has regularly filled DJ slots in clubs across the globe. His natural charisma makes him a perfect fit for a radio slot, and that’s his next move—Cocker has accepted a role as a Sunday afternoon DJ on BBC 6 Music, beginning in early 2010.
The former Pulp singer will be filling some big shoes as he takes over from Ricky Gervais, who has worked at 6 Music for two years. "Sunday afternoon is my dream slot - that weird time when one week's effectively over and yet the new one's not yet begun - the 'limbo hours', if you like,” he said.
“It is my intention to fill these hours with as much dodgy opinion, crackpot theories, hare-brained schemes and beautiful, beautiful music as is humanly possible. I can't wait to get going. It's a great honor to be working for the BBC, which I consider to be the greatest broadcaster in the world."

I've been reading about Jarvis lately -- like in a week, he received some doctorate, released an EP, mingled with Clooney, attended a premiere with his lookalike son, soundtrack got leaked, did some yoga stuffs and now he's a dj for BBC. Not to mention Pulp is getting some reissue. Dude's a busy man. Can't wait what's in store next week, maybe he'll be elected as UK PM.
I got it, you want my attention. Jarvis Cocker you are now in my Google alert.
