James Murphy, fans of LCD Soundsystem, and non-assholes in general have been up in arms over the past few days. The reason? Scalpers. They apparently scooped up a bunch of tickets to LCD's last show at the Madison Square Garden on April 2 and drove up the price considerably. Like, really, really considerably to the point of near-insanity. We're talking $11,000 here, not just merely double or triple the price.
But Murphy has retaliated. In a post titled "fuck you, scalpers. terminal 5 shows added," the man behind the Soundsystem goes into detail about how he never expected their final gig to go down like this. And they have now added four Terminal 5 shows on March 28, 29, 30 and 31 to their send-off.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale Feb. 18 at Ticketmaster.com and will be $40 each, with additional fees. Customers can only by two tickets each and ticket holders will have to present identification the day of the show to get into Terminal 5.
Well done, Mr. Murphy. Read his full post here.
