These may be End Times for LCD Soundsystem, but James Murphy isn’t going out without a theatrical flourish or two. The band is currently touring relentlessly to promote This Is Happening and to say goodbye to its fans, and Murphy has given a video interview to NME (above) in which he talks so much about boozing on the road that it’s probably a good idea for him to give it all up now (dude looks about 10 years older than he actually is in this clip).
The singer also introduces his band members, and talks about where the tour is heading. "We're not necessarily touring This Is Happening, this part of the tour is us trying to be the best version of the band we've been for eight years," he claims. "Then as the tour goes on it will be more about the new record and other things like that. Sort of a development like a Broadway musical."
