Anyone worried about the location of the corpse of James Brown can rest easy. Reports from Brown’s daughter, LaRhonda Pettit, suggested his body had gone missing, but these have been denied by Charlie Reid, who is the director of the funeral home that oversaw the Godfather of Soul’s memorial.
“There’s no truth to that,” he said, adding that the body remained in the exact spot where it was buried, in a mausoleum owned by one of Brown’s other daughters, Deana Brown. Any movement of the body “would have had to have gone through us” added Reid, who was backed up in his claims by the Aiken County sheriff’s office.
"I do not know where Ms Pettit would have received such information," said Deanna Brown, which opens up questions about Pettit’s intent on blabbing this story to the media. What was she hoping to gain by spreading this apparently false story? A little notoriety? Or perhaps she was hatching a harebrained scheme to get her hands on Brown’s money, as reports indicate she received no part of his estate and wasn’t mentioned in his will.

Yeah, this sounds about right.
