Jack White never sleeps—that much is clear at this point. How else to explain his work schedule with the White Stripes, the Raconteurs, the Dead Weather, his recording studio, record label and about a million other things? But White can’t rest easy yet. He’s just announced another project, this time with folk-y singer Laura Marling.
“Somebody turned me onto her a few months back," White said, when asked how the project with the young British singer-songwriter came to fruition. "If people are coming through town I try to catch up with them and ask them if they want to come by before their show and record something."
"It was perfect -- one take," said White, on the recording sessions. "She's gorgeous. Gorgeous voice and an incredible person. A wonderful girl." The work Marling and White did together will ultimately surface on his Third Man label’s “Blue Series” of 7-inch singles.
