Jack White just can’t stop releasing records. Seemingly inspired by the recent opening of his own Third Man Records label, White has announced that he is releasing a solo single titled “Fly Farm Blues,” which was written while he was appearing in Davis Guggenheim’s documentary, It Might Get Loud.
The song will be released as a 7-inch single on Third Man on August 11 and as a digital download via the iTunes store. White has already intimated that he has a solo album in the works, saying that he hopes to complete the lone venture by the end of 2009. He also has big plans for Third Man, beginning with a single for a band named Transit.
Two members of the Nashville Metro Transit Authority formed Transit, and White has produced two songs for them—“C’mon and Ride” and “Afterparty.” A single by Dan Sartin, titled “Bohemien Groove,” is also set for release on Third Man. Jack White is clearly not a man who values his sleep.
