Jack White says that having to cancel the remaining dates of The White Stripes 2007 tour has actually given him a bigger chance to work on three different recording projects. The tour dates were scuttled by drummer Meg White’s acute anxiety. White underscored that the cancellations were disappointing, the issues would not spell the end for the White Stripes. He did say that both parties were keeping their options open in the new year:
“If it came to a point where Meg said 'I don’t want to be in this band anymore, it doesn’t fulfill me in any way,’ then it would be a different story.”
White was elusive as to what three albums he’s working on, but denied that it was his long-rumored solo album or a new set from the Raconteurs. White was very positive, however, about the duo’s recent collaboration with Beck. Perhaps this inspiration points to at least one of the projects. [NME]
