Jack White, who collects dead mounted animals as a ridiculously expensive hobby (he was featured on History Channel's American Pickers, contemplating the purchase of a giant elephant head), threatens absurd Guinness record categories to make a point, releases music into the world via helium balloons because nobody's ever done that before, not to mention pretends his ex-wife is his sister and then starts a band with her and spends more than a decade wearing only a combination of red, black and white clothing... Yes, that particular Jack White thinks Lady Gaga is "all artifice."
In a recent interview with Esquire, White spoke out against the pop star's flamboyant persona. "I don’t think she lives it because it’s all artifice,” he said. "It’s all image with no meaning behind it. You can’t sink your teeth into it. It’s a sound bite. It’s very of this age, because that’s what people want."
Besides Gaga, White also hates Twitter and the "state of modern celebrity." You can read the full interview in the January edition of Esquire UK, which hit newsstands today (it's also available digitally). [AUX]
