When he's not being filmed for a documentary or starting up a new band or, you know, playing in one of his established groups, Jack White is apparently recording with rappers. At least that's what the guitarist revealed in an interview with GQ, in which he stated that he had worked on a track with Jay-Z.
“I just did a record with Jay-Z,” said White. “We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.”
There has been no confirmation regarding when we'll actually hear this track, but I have high hopes, considering who is involved. I'm crossing my fingers for some sort of similarly guitar-driven sequel to "99 Problems." [Source: GQ.com (U.K.) via TwentyFourBit]
Cool news!
Crazy.
I don't know why Jack's all of a sudden down to do this, but hey, I don't exactly mind either. I just feel like if I had an interest in recording with Jay-Z, it would have come before The Blueprint III dropped.
im looking forward to hearing this
