What do you do when the other half of your garage rock duo falls for a British supermodel whose hankering to be a rock star leads you to feel that three is very much a crowd? If you're Alison Mosshart (AKA the Kills' VV) you form a new group with Jack White, his fellow Raconteur Jack Lawrence along with Dean Fertita from Queens of the Stone Age and sing with them instead.
The group, named the Dead Weather, is making its live debut tonight at the opening party for Jack White's Third Man Records building in Nashville, where Horebound, the Dead Weather's forthcoming album, was recorded. The album is set for release in June. The band's first single, "Hang From The Heavens," is now available for download or streaming from this website along with a cover of Gary Numan's "Are Friends Electric?" and it's every bit the gritty, bluesy rock song you'd imagine it to be. They basically just sound like a more conventional version of the Kills. Which is at least better than any version of the Raconteurs.
The combo of Jack White & Allison Mosshart is just WOW!

i've been a fan of alison for 12 years, back to the discount days and she has always rocked. I can't wait to see what comes of this group good things will happen!!

Yeah basically they sound like the kills but that's ok. i guess.
I don't really like the raconteurs, just rehashed rock music, so maybe good things will come out of this dead weather collaboration. Alison is the most underrated and talented performer in my opinion.
