When it was announced earlier this week that Seth MacFarlane would be the host for the 85th Oscar ceremonies in February, the response from the internet was enthusiastic and mostly positive. The Family Guy creator and director of the hit comedy Ted is multi-talented and will likely put on a good show. It also doesn't help that he's pretty much an all-around hilarious guy.
But some people aren't so jazzed on the choice. MacFarlane has probably made quite a few enemies over the years, as Family Guy isn't above making fun of nearly any celebrity. Of course, most folks would just brush it off, but apparently Jack Black isn't so willing or able. In an interview with Vulture, he aired some grievances regarding himself and the cartoon tycoon:
Where did I see him? I saw him on Saturday Night Live. I thought he was serviceable. It might get tiring if he keeps on doing the voices from Family Guy. He might give that a rest. But I think he has legit comedy chops.
Black went on to say that he didn't appreciate MacFarlane "pigeonholing" who he was by saying he always had to be loud. Hopefully, this beef won't spiral out of control. If everyone who was ever gently mocked on Family Guy was this upset, Seth MacFarlane would have been placed in protective custody already.
