Ja Rule Sentenced To 28 Months For Tax Evasion

Ja Rule's life just went from "I'm in prison on a gun charge" bad to even worse: Yesterday dude was sentenced to 28 months in jail for tax evasion, having neglected to pay taxes for the five years that he was famous (essentially 2003-2008). The good news for Ja is that the sentence can be served concurrently with the two years he's serving for having a gun in his car in 2007, meaning he really only gets an additional four months for tax evasion. In court yesterday, Ja teared up when talking about how his money was mismanaged, that he didn't have any good advice on what to do with his wealth, which is something 50 Cent probably would have used had Ja still been worth his time. When he gets out, Ja will still be on the hook for the $1 million plus he owes the government. [NY Times]
