J. Tillman Leaves Fleet Foxes

After several years with Fleet Foxes, drummer J. Tillman has officially quit the bearded folk-tinged outfit. Pitchfork notes that he joined the band in 2008 and in the ensuing years has released a series of solo albums, something he'll likely continue doing now that he has a lot more free time on his hands. His final show with the band takes place tomorrow night in Japan. You can read Tillman's thoughts on his departure below via his Tumblr account:

Farewell Fleet Fans and Friends. Back into the gaping maw of obscurity I go. Tokyo is my last show with the Foxes. Sorry if I was distant and obtuse if we ever met. Have fun.
