Before J Mascis became the guitar god in Dinosaur Jr., he played drums in hardcore bands. After debuting with Deep Wound, he took a detour into rock stardom and then returned to the genre (and the drums) with The Witch. Mascis recently took some time to reflect on this journey, and produced a piece that reads sort of like a poetry assignment for English class, but offers new insights into one of the more enigmatic figures on the indie music scene. To check out the his musings, the full article can be found here. One of the posters in the comments section calls the entire article into question, however, by observing that Mascis would never say that he's from Boston. Read at your own risk.[The Quietus]
