The Doors are one of those bands that every teenager tries on at least once by buying their greatest hits album or a poster or T-shirt with Jim Morrison on it. Needless to say, their alleged impact on music is overshadowed these days by the merchandise. A new documentary, When You're Strange: A Film About The Doors, tries to put The Doors back in their position at rock's pantheon by tracing the band's short career (all of five years) and their battles against censorship.
